About Dr. Montgomery

Alan B. Montgomery DDS, MS

A board certified orthodontist, Dr. Alan Montgomery has been in practice for more than 20 years. He completed his undergraduate degree in mathematics at St. Olaf College and his DDS degree at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Montgomery worked as a general dentist for eight years, including four years with the U.S. Navy Dental Corp. In 1985, he graduated with a Master of Science degree from the University of Iowa Orthodontic Residency Program.

In 1996 Dr. Montgomery earned the designation of Diplomate by the American Board of Orthodontics. Certification by the board is based on clinical proficiency and standards for dental specialists. He has established a practice of excellence by providing his patients with state-of-the-art technology and quality care.

Dr. Montgomery was born and raised in St. Paul. He is married to Janet Karvonen-Montgomery and they have four children and a boxer dog. Janet owns and operates Janet Karvonen Basketball Camps. Dr. Montgomery enjoys all types of sports and is active at church.
